Our Story

It was just after a rain, we were on the banks of the Blanchard River, a favorite knoll of Archie Peter Diller, my grandpa. Archie had his favorite pool cue that he used every time he walked in the fields. I was around 8, following the corn rows, trying to look over rows to my left and right. It never failed, Grandpa would stop and say, Peter, you have one close by. I would stop in my tracks, searching for a point , hammer or slate. All the shapes and colors of my grandpa’s collection were racing through my head. Finally, there it was, the black notched ear of a rough point, peeking through the ground. I was overjoyed and grandpa was smiling.

This was my introduction to the world of collecting Indian Relics. The Diller’s now have 5 generations of Peter Dillers loving and respecting the tools and the art of the Native American Indians.

Growing up there were many nights I could smell the wonderful odor of cigar smoke and listen to the stories from some of our oldest and greatest collectors. The community of Indian Artifact collectors is unique. We love the Indian people, the heritage and strive to preserve that history through their art. There isn’t a person I have meet in this community that  yearns to know more and is ready to share stories, experiences and help anyone else interested in this amazing heritage of the Indians.

We invite everyone to come and experience our monthly sales at Diller Auctions. You will find only authentic Indian artifacts in our auctions.  We keep the lot size in between 300-400. The auction room has seating and tables to provide an environment of easy bidding and excellent story telling. Our food is supreme and the popcorn is salty and free.  We will have each auction on LiveAuctioners.com for those that are too far to attend.

For each sale we do encourage you to come to our auction House in Gilboa, Ohio. The day will be like the memories I had with my dad {Peter H Diller) in his relic room. His room was hidden by a picture of Sitting Bull in front of his secret door. You will leave auction day with the shared memories of anticipation, laughter, fine food and a wonderful addition to your collection. Plus, we are planning some great giveaways for those in attendance!

Join us for the next great auction!
